Ishtiyaq Shukri is the award-winning author of The Silent Minaret, I See You, and An Unwritten Life. The Silent Minaret was the first novel to win the EU Literary Award in 2005. He was born in Johannesburg in 1968. He lives in London, where he works in suicide prevention. He is co-editor and head of content at Unwritten Lives.
